March 2011 Newsletter
Staffing changes
There have been a few changes made to the staff roster. Tamara will now have every Thursday off as she is at University undertaking a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood). Beth and Cassie will be working from 8-5 on this day. You may have noticed that there are some days where we only have two staff members at the service. This is because our numbers are low on these days. We will continue to run two staff members until our numbers start to build. Keep an eye on the staffing sheet on the notice board outside to keep up to date with staffing. It is important to note that the correct staff to child ratio is maintained at ALL TIMES.
My Family form
We have started to put together a book of all the family photos for the children to look at and discuss with their peers. We are still waiting on quite a few forms to come back. Please take the time to attach a family photo and write a little bit of information about your family. The children have already been looking at the pictures and discussing the different families.
Speech Pathologist
Speech therapists from Leaps & Bounds speech Pathology came to visit the staff on Thursday 10th March and spoke about the services they offer. On Friday 1st April we will be holding a “screening session” for anyone who wishes to have their child’s language assessed. This screening session will cost $30 and will go for approximately 15 mins (each child) Permission forms are now in parents pockets, if you wish to have your child/ren’s language assessed by experienced speech therapists please fill out this form and return them to staff. Feel free to approach staff with any questions you may have or for more information.
Monthly Policy Review
This month we will be reviewing our Sun Protection and Toileting Policies. You will find a copy of the policies on the notice board in the Kookaburra room. Please take the time to read the policy and pass on your feed back to Tamara. Copies of policies are also available upon request at any time.
