The centre follows the guidelines of the Early Years Learning Framework for Australia: Belonging, Being and Becoming. This framework has been developed to ensure children receive quality education in an early childhood setting, and the vision is for all children to experience play based learning that is engaging and builds success for life. Children spend many years in institutional environments. Our philosophy is to provide a homely environment with learning centres that provide children with maximum learning opportunities. Each child will have an individual Developmental Record, and will be provided with activities that cater to their individual needs. This will be done in conjunction with activities designed for the group as a whole.

The activities provided will cover all areas of development including:

  • Language Development (expressive, receptive. literacy)
  • Cognitive Development (“thinking skills”, maths, science, problem solving)
  • Physical Development (gross motor and fine motor)
  • Social and Emotional Development (playing with friends, being part of a group)
  • Self Help Skills (becoming independent, looking after their belongings)
  • School Readiness

By incorporating the children’s interests into our learning experiences, we create a stimulating learning environment that is fun as well as educational
